The Army of Nisrok

In my last post, we explored what actually transpires after the seventh seal is opened by the Lamb of God in the Book of Revelation. We also learned that the seventh seal is Netzach, the seventh Sefirot on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. We further learned that Netz-ach means “falcon-brother” in Hebrew, rather than “eternity” or “fortitude,” as generally presumed. And that “falcon-brother” is the winged being the prophet sees at the wellspring of the Seventh Seal — the one called Apollyon (Apollon) in Greek and Abaddon in Hebrew, who is, in truth, the eagle-headed Living Being, Cherubim, and/or throne-bearer seen and described by the prophets Ezekiel, Zechariah, and Muhammad.

More interesting still, this “angel of the well” (not pit or abyss) is the mysterious Nisrok or Nisroch named in 2 Kings 19:37 and Isaiah 37:36-38. According to the prevailing wisdom, Nisrok was the name of an eagle-headed god in Assyria. And it was while praying at Nisrok’s temple that King Sennacherib was slain by his own two sons.

As demonstrated last time, 2 Kings 19:37 not only says nothing about the patricide of an Assyrian King, it also refers to Nisrok as “Nisrok-Elohim.”

Nisrok is, therefore, an Elohim power, rather than a long-forgotten Assyrian god. He did, however, have a place in the pantheons of ancient Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and India. In India, he is still honored today as Garuda, the eagle-headed vahana of Lord Vishnu.

In Persia, he was the vehicle for Ahura Mazda, the chief god of Zoroastrianism, a religion predating Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity. In the image below, we see Ahura Mazda standing in a ring (like Mesopotamian depictions of Anu) with the wings and tail of an eagle or falcon.

Even more fascinating is that Nis-rok means “miracle-saliva” in Hebrew, while Gar-uda means “the sacred-syllable, weeping.” And Jesus does indeed use his saliva to perform miracles in the New Testament. He also wept over the death of his friend, Lazurus, who he later (miraculously) restored to life.

And we learned all of this and more simply by questioning the long-accepted (mis)translations of the Judeo-Christian scriptures. And today we might learn even more, by continuing our inquisition into what John of Patmos truly witnessed after the Lamb opened the seventh seal of the falcon-brother, Nisrok.

Oh, and just so you know, there’s just as much ego-corrupted CRAP being peddled out there regarding the mystical Kabballah, as there is about everything else the Holy Spirit gave us to find the door out of the dream. So, caveat emptor, my beloved brother in Christ.

In our examination of John’s account of what transpires after the Lamb of God opens the seventh seal, we have come to the sixth angel-trumpet and the second woe; so let’s see what happens next.

The sixth angel-trumpet sounded and I heard a voice come out of the four horns of the golden altar, the faces of God, saying to the sixth angel holding the trumpet, “Release the four angel-messengers bound in the great river Euphrates.” The four angels were released to make ready the time and day, month and year, that the third of humankind apart from killing — those numbering among the army of the horses, the dual multitudes upon multitudes of the Infinite Self able to hear the numbers of the Self; And in this way to perceive the horses (by way of spiritual vision), and to be seated thereupon as the Higher Self possessing a breastplate of fiery deep-blue, with a godlike head. The heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and from out of their mouths came forth fire, smoke, and brimstone. Under these three were the third of humankind apart from killing by the fire, and the smoke, and the brimstone that proceeded from the mouth of the Higher Self. For indeed this Self had the authority of the presence within that same mouth; and also the tail. For indeed the tail of the Self resembled a snake having a head, that with the Self acted wrong-mindedly. And the remainder of humans who were not parted from killing, and refused to be parted from killing by these plagues, neither changing their mind nor purpose nor working on behalf of the Self as instruments for not worshipping devils, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, or even wood, which could neither see, hear, nor walk. Do, therefore, change your mind and purpose toward the Self apart from murder, and useless sorcery, and fornication and theft.

Loads of symbols to unpack in this segment. Let’s start with the four horns of the golden altar. Those four horns are the horn-shaped quadrants of the Wheel at the Center or the Cosmos, the golden wheel our Souls walk around on the Circle-Journey of bowing down. As God’s four faces, those horns are the horn-shaped beams or rays of the Greater Light seen by the prophets as the Living Beings supporting the Throne of Elohim. One of those horns, we now know, is Nisrok, the eagle-headed cherubim. Those beings instruct the angel with the sixth trumpet to release the four messengers bound in the river Euphrates (the earthy reflection of the divine river of Living Water known as Yardna or Yardena). The four messengers are, we can presume, the four horses of God, ready to battle the Ego Mind on earth.

This makes it sound as though the horses will be released when a third of the human population has joined their army (Nisrok’s army), and also is under their protection. These are the people who’ve 1) given up the world of bodies, death and murder, 2) can hear “the numbers of the Self,” and 3) perceive themselves, through spiritual vision, riding God’s horses with “a breastplate of fiery deep-blue” and “a godlike head.”

Let me briefly de-code the symbology:

–The numbers of the Self probably refers to the solfeggio frequencies listed in the Book of Numbers–the seven or nine tonal frequencies comprising the Cosmic Choir of the Om.

–The breastplate of fiery deep-blue is the breastplate of righteousness (rightmindedness)–the protective “armor” forged by the Christ Light in our heart-minds, which is said to be sapphire blue in color. Those who wear the breastplate perceive the world through Christ’s Vision.

–the godlike head describes a mind that holds only the Thoughts of God, free from the Ego Mind’s degrading interference.

The symbolic snake with a human head is found in many cultures with ancient roots, most notably Japan, India, and Turkey.

So, what we learn from all this is that the horses of God (the Rigveda’s Asvina), which were bound hitherto in the Great River of Living Water, are now free to do battle with the Ego Mind head-on. This is why they have heads of lions whose mouths spew forth symbolic fire, smoke, and brimstone. That mouth, we are told, speaks with the authority of God and Christ. But the tail, which looks like a snake, speaks for the Ego, which deceives parts of the Christ Self into thinking and acting wrongmindedly.

John doesn’t say outright that the humans who refuse to repent (change their mind and purpose) will die from this “woe”; but it does imply they won’t be protected from the fire, smoke, and brimstone of God’s Supreme Will “to make earth like Heaven” at this point in the dream of time.

Now, in all honesty, I wasn’t sure what to make of all this when I stopped writing yesterday afternoon, after which I had dinner, watched TV, and went to bed, as usual. In the morning, I awoke knowing what this army was. I just knew. They are the army of miracle-workers that takes over the world toward the dream’s end, when “the meek inherit the earth.”

Or, as Course-Jesus explains more fully:

The Atonement is a total commitment. You may still think this is associated with loss, a mistake all the separated Sons of God make in one way or another. It is hard to believe a defense that cannot attack is the best defense. This is what is meant by “the meek shall inherit the earth.” They will literally take it over because of their strength. A two-way defense is inherently weak precisely because it has two edges, and can be turned against you very unexpectedly. This possibility cannot be controlled except by miracles. The miracle turns the defense of Atonement to your real protection, and as you become more and more secure you assume your natural talent of protecting others, knowing yourself as both a brother and a Son. (ACIM, T-2.II.7:1-8)

Fascinating, isn’t it? Not to mention, revealing. But there’s more. Because this morning, after rising, I Googled “army of Nisrok” and learned that this army of miracle workers also is mentioned by the prophet Isaiah, whose account is interpreted as describing “the Assyrian forces led by King Sennacherib, which “was miraculously destroyed overnight by an angel of the Lord, with 185,000 soldiers killed.”

Care to place a wager on whether or not that interpretation holds water? We’ll come back to it.

For now, let’s move on to the next set of verses in Revelation 10:

And I beheld another mighty angel come down from Heaven, wrapped in clouds, with a rainbow on his head, and a face like the sun, and feet like pillars of fire. He held in his hand a little book to open and to set upon the right-hand side of the footstool upon the sea; but to the left-hand side upon the earth, he cried in a loud voice, like a lion’s roar. And when he thus cried, seven thunders spoke in their own voices. And when the seven thunders spoke in their own voices, I intended to write down what they said, but I heard a voice from Heaven saying to me, “Seal up that which the seven thunders talk of, and write them not.” And the angel standing upon the sea and upon the earth lifted his hand to Heaven, and made a pledge to live forever in that which was created in Heaven within the physical, and in the sea within, that there shall come to pass a time no longer opposing the Day (the Greater Light) intoning the seventh angel; the time when he is destined to sound the trumpet of the Mystery of God completed, as proclaimed by his servants, the prophets.

And the voice I heard from Heaven spoke to me again, saying: “Go and receive the little book — the one open in the hand of the angel whom stands on the earth and the sea. And I went toward the angel, saying to him, “Give me the little book.” And he said to me, “To receive is to eat the whole, to make bitter your heart, to make bitter what otherwise would be in your mouth as sweet as honey. And when I did eat the book, it tasted sweet in my mouth, but my heart was made bitter. And he said unto me, “You must speak forth again before many people and races in the language of kings.”

This is confusing as a whole, so let’s tackle it in snippets. The mighty angel straddling the two realms sounds like Elohim himself. Wrapped in clouds, with a face like the sun, a rainbow over his head, and feet like a pillar of fire. Who else could it be? Based on all we read herein, the little book he opens and sets down on the footstool most likely symbolizes the Word of God, the guru-word, Om or Amen. A heavenly voice tells John to ask the angel to give him the book, which he does. And the Angel tells him that to receive the book is to eat the whole (the vibration of wholeness restoring Heaven’s at-one-ment on earth) , which tastes sweet but will make his innermost-being bitter.

This is challenging to decipher. But I’m guessing he means that eating of the Word, the “bread of life” restoring Creation’s at-one-ment, is a sweet experience, but will make the world’s offerings increasingly distasteful to our Souls; and that certainly has been my experience.

In John 6:48, Jesus says, “I am the bread of life.” And if Jesus is that epiousion bread, he also is the Amen, the Name of God with the power to heal the separation. And if Jesus is the Name of God incarnate, he’s also the Om. Ergo, to join and/or pray “in the Name of Jesus Christ” is to offer our prayers together in the Resting Place, through the loving vibration of his Holy Name.

The seventh angel roars at the earth, and his roar is like seven booms of thunder, each with a different voice. These are probably the seven “voices” or “tones” of the Cosmic Choir. But John is enjoined from sharing what they say by a disembodied voice. The trumpet of the seventh angel, which has yet to sound in earth-time, announces the completion of God’s Plan, the Great Mystery or Secret Doctrine, about which the prophets have spoken. The voice then tells John he must speak again before many people and races (of evolving Souls), “in the language of kings” — a curious phrase found elsewhere in scripture.

According to Google,

The “language of kings” represents a spiritual, authoritative way of speaking modeled by Jesus—characterized by love, grace, truth, and faith-filled declarations that release power, blessing, and life, rather than fear. It is a kingdom language focused on obedience and speaking with authority.

I’m pretty sure the language of kings is a scriptural metaphor for the direct communications we share through the God Mind via the Christ Mind.

Or, as Course-Jesus explains:

Everything the ego perceives is a separate whole, without the relationships that imply being. The ego is thus against communication, except insofar as it is utilized to establish separateness rather than to abolish it. The communication system of the ego is based on its own thought system, as is everything else it dictates. Its communication is controlled by its need to protect itself, and it will disrupt communication when it experiences threat. This disruption is a reaction to a specific person or persons. The specificity of the ego’s thinking, then, results in spurious generalization which is really not abstract at all. It merely responds in certain specific ways to everything it perceives as related.

In contrast, spirit reacts in the same way to everything it knows is true, and does not respond at all to anything else. Nor does it make any attempt to establish what is true. It knows that what is true is everything that God created. It is in complete and direct communication with every aspect of creation, because it is in complete and direct communication with its Creator. This communication is the Will of God. Creation and communication are synonymous. God created every mind by communicating His Mind to it, thus establishing it forever as a channel for the reception of His Mind and Will. Since only beings of a like order can truly communicate, His creations naturally communicate with Him and like Him. This communication is perfectly abstract, since its quality is universal in application and not subject to any judgment, any exception or any alteration. God created you by this and for this. The mind can distort its function, but it cannot endow itself with functions it was not given. That is why the mind cannot totally lose the ability to communicate, even though it may refuse to utilize it on behalf of being. (ACIM, T-4.VII.3:1-12

This is what I’m talking about, brother. Communing with God through the wordless hum of the Holy Spirit sounding inside our higher minds.

Let’s now go back to Isaiah’s account of the army of Nisrok — to see what the prophet actually described. His account is, as it turns out, almost identical in wording to 2 Kings 19:36-37 about King Sennacherib’s supposed murder in the temple of Nisrok. What Isaiah actually reports is more along these lines:

The angel-messenger of Yovah came out to strike the encampment of Assh-ur (the purifying fire of fires), the Water of God (and) the name of the collective light of the strength of Aleph (the Red Ray of the Father’s Will and Authority), rising in the breaking dawn to kill the lifeless body (ego-body consciousness).

The angel of the burning bush governs the journey of walking back to the dwelling place of forgiveness, to bow down in the house of Nisrok-Elohim, in the kingly splendor of the singing helpers; the Sons inviting in this manner the Cherub (the four Cherubim supporting the throne) to deliver the Land of the Living, the sacred land of the pledge to bow down to the Son ascending to the Throne.

So, the Army of Nisrok is what Christians call the Army of Christ–a highly misunderstood body of “crusaders” fighting the good fight, not with physical weapons but through faith, prayer, and spreading the Word. That crusading army of devoted disciples is described in Timothy 2:3-4, not as evangelists in the human world (as generally presumed), but as “unentangled with the affairs of this life.”

In the following from the Course, Jesus more clearly describes the requirements and marching orders of his recruits.

I am in charge of the process of Atonement, which I undertook to begin. When you offer a miracle to any of my brothers, you do it to yourself and me. The reason you come before me is that I do not need miracles for my own Atonement, but I stand at the end in case you fail temporarily. My part in the Atonement is the cancelling out of all errors that you could not otherwise correct. When you have been restored to the recognition of your original state, you naturally become part of the Atonement yourself. As you share my unwillingness to accept error in yourself and others, you must join the great crusade to correct it; listen to my voice, learn to undo error and act to correct it. The power to work miracles belongs to you. I will provide the opportunities to do them, but you must be ready and willing. Doing them will bring conviction in the ability, because conviction comes through accomplishment. The ability is the potential, the achievement is its expression, and the Atonement, which is the natural profession of the children of God, is the purpose.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away” means that they will not continue to exist as separate states. My word, which is the resurrection and the life, shall not pass away because life is eternal. You are the work of God, and His work is wholly lovable and wholly loving. This is how a man must think of himself in his heart, because this is what he is.

The forgiven are the means of the Atonement. Being filled with spirit, they forgive in return. Those who are released must join in releasing their brothers, for this is the plan of the Atonement. Miracles are the way in which minds that serve the Holy Spirit unite with me for the salvation or release of all of God’s creations.

(ACIM, T-1.III.2:1–3:4)

Like I said, Nisrok’s Army is Christ’s Army of miracle-workers, the forgiven souls going forth from the wellspring, armed with the spiritual vision born of God’s Strength and Nisrok’s miracle-saliva. The horses they ride are God’s thought-forces, which speak for and with God’s lion-like authority (symbolized in John’s vision as the fire, smoke, and brimstone of spiritual purification through almsgiving).

So, nothing the least bit frightening. And don’t let the charlatans tell you otherwise.

Before I sign off, I want to revisit a curious phrase used in these verses. The phrase I mean is “the dual multitudes upon multitudes of the Infinite Self.” In the KJV Bible, these words are nonsensically translated as “two hundred thousand thousand.” As I discovered after coming up with “the dual multitudes of the Infinite Self,” these words describe a philosophical-metaphysical concept suggesting that the singular, boundless self (the “Infinite Self”) contains within it a vast array of aspects or possibilities (“multitudes” or “multitudes upon multitudes”). Those seemingly endless possibilities appear to the perceiving ego mind as opposites (“duality”).

In the pure non-duality of Da’at (the Infinite Absolute of the God Mind) there are no opposites. No good and evil, no darkness and light, no male and female, no real and unreal, no thee and thou, no right and wrong, no yin and yang. There is only yin, the unyielding eternal, which houses only good, light, being, unity, order, peace, harmony, love, and right. Everything yang (yielding or impermanent) is a figment arising from our haywire judging of yin as something other than yin (which doesn’t exist).

As Jesus says in the Course, there are only two choices available to us in every moment: and those choices are to either perceive the yang as real in fear, separation, and faithlessness, or to perceive only the yin in love, oneness, and faithfulness.

Or as Course-Jesus states right at the start of his manual for awakening:

The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. (ACIM, T-in.1:8)

Next time, we’ll explore what happens next, as reported in Revelation 11. And, after that, I promise, we’ll return to retranslating the Rigveda. Thanks for visiting. Until we meet again, Om Hari Om and Namaste.
