The Upside-Down Realm of Perception

The Spiritual Truths we’ve explored so far are bound to provoke some compelling questions. One of these might be, “What possessed us to leave Heaven in the first place?” The simplest answer is that we yearned to experience what Course-Jesus calls “specialness.”

Bored with the egalitarian grind of Oneness, some of the Souls belonging to “the Christ” longed to feel “special.” More beloved, more deserving, more favored, or just more ANYTHING than their fellow creations. They longed to stand out — and apart — rather than always blending in and reflecting everything else. They sought “special favor” from God, in other words, in place of the anonymizing sameness and consensus that extending Agape as a unified Whole demanded under the Law of Love.

This desire was, in fact, the original “sin” or “error” the Catholic Church calls “concupiescence” — a big word that (unbeknownst to the Vatican) has nothing to do with sexual lust. According to Course-Jesus, the word describes the desire to self-create — that is, to invent a self-concept different from the one God created through the Logos. That desire was dangerous not only because it challenged God’s Allness and Authority, but also because the desire for “concupiescence” had creative power, as all thoughts do. And what that particular Truth-altering desire spawned was a parasitic thought-system opposing Agape, the core essence of ALL Being.

Or, as Course-Christ confirms:

Consciousness, the level of perception, was the first split introduced into the mind after the separation, making the mind a perceiver rather than a creator. Consciousness is correctly identified as the domain of the ego. The ego is a wrong-minded attempt to perceive yourself as you wish to be, rather than as you are. Yet you can know yourself only as you are, because that is all you can be sure of. Everything else IS open to question. (ACIM, T-3.IV.2:1-5)

When God refused to indulge this insane and destructive request, the malcontented Souls bailed out of Heaven, by projecting the “alienated” part of their minds into another dimension of cognition — an alternate universe ruled by the “alien invader” Course-Jesus calls both the Ego Mind and the Great Deceiver (of humankind).

In the Holy Bible, that same “ego-alien” intelligenc is referred to as (among other names) the Devil, the Evil One, Satan, the Serpent, the Lord of Flies (Beelzebub), the Antichrist, the Adversary, the Tempter, the Father of Lies, and (my personal favorite) “the prince with the power of the air.”

A sovereign with no real power, in other words.

In the sacred Hindu literature, the Ego Mind is personified as Vritra, a Heaven-invading demon or “Asura” associated with “drought.” He is the maker of the “waterless desert” of earthly existence, in other words. Often depicted as a serpent who obstructs the flow of rivers (a metaphor for the “waters” of God’s Thoughts), Vritra is ultimately defeated by King Indra (the Spirit of Grace) with the help of his thunderbolt-throwing “Vajra.” Rightly understood, the thunderbolts Indra’s weapon discharges are the thought-correcting Miracles that gradually free our minds from the Ego Mind’s “dark veils” of misperception. Vritra also is known as “Ahi” — one of many Sanskrit words for “snake.”

In some of the Gnostic literature recovered at Nag Hammadi in the 1940s, the Ego Mind is called Yaldabaoth — a word presumed to mean “chaos.” And that tracks with what Course-Jesus says about the Ego Mind instigating the Laws of Chaos. Like the Devil in the Bible and Vritra in the Hindu lore, Yaldabaoth is a malevolent deity known as a “demiurge” — a word of ancient Greek origin meaning “the crafter of the material world.” Commonly depicted as a lion-headed serpent, Yaldabaoth is correctly identified in Gnosticism as a false god who keeps Souls trapped in physical bodies, imprisoned in the material universe.

Are you starting to see what I mean when I say most sacred texts tell the same story?

That the Devil is also called “Lucifer” is a gross misnomer. Firstly, the name “Lucifer” didn’t appear in the Bible until the KJV translators added it in the early 1600s.

I kid you not.

Secondly, “Lucifer” — which means “morning star” — refers to the Light of God the Separated Ones brought with them into the Realm of Perception when they projected out of Heaven. They might have fooled themselves into believing they weren’t Beings of Agape, but that didn’t change the Truth one iota.

Course-Jesus affirms my assertion about Lucifer in the URText. He also says that we are still as holy as the Angels, which were created BELOW the Son of God, but did not “fall.” The whole concept of “fallen Angels” is, therefore, a complete invention by the Prince of Darkness.

Let’s get back to our story, because I need to clarify that the rebel Souls only imagined they ejected themselves out of Heaven. Leaving the Bubble wasn’t an option under the established laws of Creation. Where they ended up was, therefore, a fantasy realm that didn’t exist inside the God-Mind Bubble — or anywhere else, for that matter (because there is nowhere else). In that Agape-opposing dreamscape everything appeared to be the reverse of what was true. Think Lewis Carroll’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” and you’ll grasp the general concept.

In that upside-down fantasy realm (the little basket underneath the God-Mind Bubble), we “perceive” rather than “know,” as we did and will again when we wake up in Heaven. Because only by “perceiving” things as we wish them to be, rather than as they indelibly ARE, can we imagine ourselves being anywhere other than Heaven.

Because, once again, there is nowhere else.

Does that answer the question of what motivated the Separated Ones to leave Heaven? If not, don’t worry, because I’ll tell the story of how the Great Projection came about in more detail as we move forward.

Another question we might ask is how the Separated Ones were able to exclude God — the omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Creator of All Things Agape — from the split-off dream-dimension. In my last post, The Dynamics of Creation, I explained why God refrained from breaking through our ego-erected barricades. But there’s more to the story on both sides.

As Course-Jesus explains, God initially allowed the rebellion to continue because He honored the Sonship’s free will and creative experimentation — even as things “in the void” progressed from bad to worse. Not until we started killing each other, did God step in.

To be fair to the rebel Souls, they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into when they dreamed-up the Ego Mind — in defiance of God — to manifest a sphere in which they could both perceive themselves as “special” and hide from God’s anticipated punishment.

As soon as they struck that unholy bargain, their new “creative partner” began spinning the sticky threads of fear the Separated Ones projected outward through inverted “perception” into a web to keep out God’s protective transmissions. The “dark web” the Lord of Flies devised didn’t just block God’s “acoustic homing sonar,” however: it also trapped the separated Souls inside the Dark Kingdom the Great Deceiver sneakily crafted to replace God as “the creator.” Once the rebel Souls naively agreed to enter the Realm of Perception, Beelzebub bound them in his silky “swath” of fear like the skeevy spider he truly is.

Never forget that we made the Ego Mind to experience “specialness,” a mode of self-assessment completely dependent on comparison. We can’t, in other words, assess ourselves as more beautiful, popular, privileged, intelligent, accomplished, powerful, desirable, or ANY other arbitrary attribute that makes us feel SUPERIOR to others, unless we compare ourselves to those we deem INFERIOR to us in those same areas.

Those who play the unwinnable game of comparison are straddling Satan’s seesaw.

The trouble with comparison is that it’s completely subjective and arbitrary. There’s no set benchmarks because the Devil in our minds keeps moving the bars and changing the rules. Those who play the unwinnable game of comparison are straddling Satan’s seesaw. They’re up one moment and down the next, with all their happiness invested in their ever-shifting position in the fantasy world the Devil made to burn us.

Or, as Course-Jesus explains (at length, because it’s important stuff to know):

The ego literally lives by comparisons. Equality is beyond its grasp, and charity becomes impossible. The ego never gives out of abundance, because it was made as a substitute for it. That is why the concept of “getting” arose in the ego’s thought system. Appetites are “getting” mechanisms, representing the ego’s need to confirm itself. This is as true of body appetites as it is of the so-called “higher ego needs.” Body appetites are not physical in origin. The ego regards the body as its home, and tries to satisfy itself through the body. But the idea that this is possible is a decision of the mind, which has become completely confused about what is really possible.

The ego believes it is completely on its own, which is merely another way of describing how it thinks it originated. This is such a fearful state that it can only turn to other egos and try to unite with them in a feeble attempt at identification, or attack them in an equally feeble show of strength. It is not free, however, to open the premise to question, because the premise is its foundation. The ego is the mind’s belief that it is completely on its own. The ego’s ceaseless attempts to gain the spirit’s acknowledgment and thus establish its own existence are useless. Spirit in its knowledge is unaware of the ego. It does not attack it; it merely cannot conceive of it at all.

While the ego is equally unaware of spirit, it does perceive itself as being rejected by something greater than itself. This is why self-esteem in ego terms must be delusional. The creations of God do not create myths, although creative effort can be turned to mythology. It can do so, however, only under one condition; what it makes is then no longer creative. Myths are entirely perceptual, and so ambiguous in form and characteristically good-and-evil in nature that the most benevolent of them is not without fearful connotations.

Myths and magic are closely associated, since myths are usually related to ego origins, and magic to the powers the ego ascribes to itself. Mythological systems generally include some account of “the creation,” and associate this with its particular form of magic. The so-called “battle for survival” is only the ego’s struggle to preserve itself, and its interpretation of its own beginning. This beginning is usually associated with physical birth, because it is hard to maintain that the ego existed before that point in time. The more “religiously” ego-oriented may believe that the soul existed before, and will continue to exist after a temporary lapse into ego life. Some even believe that the soul will be punished for this lapse. However, salvation does not apply to spirit, which is not in danger and does not need to be salvaged.

Salvation is nothing more than “right-mindedness,” which is not the One-mindedness of the Holy Spirit, but which must be achieved before One-mindedness is restored. Right-mindedness leads to the next step automatically, because right perception is uniformly without attack, and therefore wrong-mindedness is obliterated. The ego cannot survive without judgment, and is laid aside accordingly. The mind then has only one direction in which it can move. Its direction is always automatic, because it cannot but be dictated by the thought system to which it adheres.

It cannot be emphasized too often that correcting perception is merely a temporary expedient. It is necessary only because misperception is a block to knowledge, while accurate perception is a steppingstone towards it. The whole value of right perception lies in the inevitable realization that ALL perception is unnecessary. This removes the block entirely. You may ask how this is possible as long as you appear to be living in this world. That is a reasonable question. You must be careful, however, that you really understand it. Who is the “you” who are living in this world? Spirit is immortal, and immortality is a constant state. It is as true now as it ever was or ever will be, because it implies no change at all. It is not a continuum, nor is it understood by being compared to an opposite. Knowledge never involves comparisons. That is its main difference from everything else the mind can grasp.

(ACIM, T-4.II.7:1–11:13)

Like I said: important stuff to know, but not all that easy to grasp at the lower levels of perception.

Another reason the Separated Ones were able to block God’s “acoustic homing sonar” is that fear — the Ego Mind’s stock-in-trade — is antithetical to Agape. Fear repels God’s Love, in other words, making it impossible for the two thought-drivers to coexist within the same sphere of mind. Thus, by choosing fear (the inferior thought-power of the embodied ego-self), we automatically choose against Agape (the superior thought-power of the unembodied Christ Self). By choosing fear, we’re also choosing fantasy over reality, because Agape also repels fear. Fear isn’t, therefore, in God’s vocabulary.

To wake up in Heaven, we must choose against every fantasy Satan manufactured to tempt us into remaining his compliant prisoner.

Or, as Course-Jesus says:

God would not have His Son made prisoner to what he does not want. He joins with you in willing you be free. And to oppose Him is to make a choice against your Self, and choose that you be bound. (ACIM, T-30.II.2:8-10)

To clarify what he means, God “joins with us” by sending all the tools required for our escape into the dream-realm through the Spirit of Grace. All God’s gifts are floating around us in the ethers, waiting to be claimed. Technically speaking, God sends those tools into “the Second Temple of Jerusalem” — or, more descriptively, “the Temple of the Second Covenant.”

That Temple, which is much discussed in the Old Testament, never existed in the material world. And that is why archaeologists have never excavated a single scrap of its remains. Rightmindedly perceived, the Second Temple of Jerusalem is allegorical “code” for the Spiritual Body — the corporate Body of Christ we broke into pieces when we chose separation over Oneness.

Ergo, we “rebuild” the Second Temple by submitting to or “choosing” the Holy Spirit’s guidance and promised rewards over the Great Deceiver’s.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Pretty much everything in true scriptural texts is allegorical rather than literal. In the Old Testament, therefore, Jerusalem, Israel, Egypt, Babylon, and Bethlehem are ALL symbols, as are the temples, the menorahs, and most of the players. As with most allegorical elements, the names generally tell us what each represents in the story.

“Jerusalem,” for example, means “the abode of peace” in Hebrew. This definition, coupled with the Old City’s surrounding wall, tells us “Jerusalem” represents the walled city, polis, or “enclosure” the Spirit of Grace established “east of Eden” to preserve the Higher Mind memories of our Souls. Both “clues” suggest that “Jerusalem” is the Biblical cypher for the Holy Resting Place or Golden Circle where our Souls gather to exchange Miracles of Grace.

“Israel,” a Hebrew word commonly defined as “he who struggles with God,” more accurately translates as (according to the very etymologically useful Abrahim Publications) “He who retains God” or “God is Upright.” In the Bible, therefore, “Israel” describes the world we perceive after our Upright or Rightminded Perception is restored through the purification process of At-one-ment or Forgiveness.

In Genesis, the name “Israel” is given to Jacob, after his encounter with the Angel of God on the banks of the river Jabbok — a word-name meaning “to pour out.”

In a recent dream, I was told the “fruits of the tree of Jacob” were being sent into the world in greater numbers. The message came in response to my pre-bedtime question (to my inner-guru) about something I’d seen that day on YouTube. In the long and repetitive video, Sadhguru (Jagadish “Jaggi” Vasudev, the “super-guru” who founded Isha Institute) explained that the “Chosen Ones” would receive a power-boost to help with their assigned ministries starting on April 5, 2025. Uncannily, I happened upon the video on that very date.

Sadhguru

Now, I know Sadhguru reasonably well. Not personally, but I’ve taken his online “Inner Engineering” course, attended a retreat at the Isha Institute facility in Tennessee, read his book, and have watched several of his videos on YouTube. I’ve also heard him say things that don’t ring true, and consequently wrote him off as a legitimate source of Spiritual Truth. So, needless to say, I was skeptical about his claims in the video. Hence, asking my inner-guru if his message to “the Chosen Ones” had merit.

The answer I received — paired with being guided to the video and the riveting feeling I experienced while watching it — strongly suggest that Sadhguru’s message does indeed have merit.

Subsequently, I learned that the tree of Jacob is referenced in a parable in the Book of Mormon. In the story, the tree of Jacob is an olive tree. The fruits of the tree are, therefore, olives (obviously) — which, when pressed, produce olive oil. And olive oil was regarded by the ancient Jews as the purest possible fuel for their menorahs.

Now, I happen to know that the Temple Menorah in the Old Testament represents the “inner-instrument” through which we ascend the levels of spiritual awakening. I also know that the seven lamps running across that Menorah symbolize the “spirits” or “lamps” John the Elder reported seeing “before the Throne of God” in the New Testament Book of Revelations. I further know that the Menorah seen in a vision by the Old Testament prophet Zechariah was that “inner-instrument,” which also is, therefore, the Cup or Chalice of Redemption — a significant symbol in Judaism, as well as Christianity. We see that Chalice beautifully rendered on the ACE OF CUPS card in the Rider-Waite Tarot.

In the Course, Jesus calls that same instrument “the Chalice of Atonement.” He mentioned this symbolic “chalice” a few times in the original dictations, but only one of those references made it into the “Standard Edition” edited and published by the Foundation for Inner Peace.

The surviving reference reads as follows:

Beside you is one who offers you the chalice of Atonement, for the Holy Spirit is in him. Would you hold his sins against him, or accept his gift to you? Is this giver of salvation your friend or enemy? Choose which he is, remembering that you will receive of him according to your choice. He has in him the power to forgive your sin, as you for him. Neither can give it to himself alone. And yet your savior stands beside each one. Let him be what he is, and seek not to make of love an enemy. (ACIM, T-19.IV-D.13:1-8)

In Zechariah’s vision, two olive trees stood on either side of the Menorah, filling with olive oil from two pipes a golden bowl atop the lampstand. That olive oil represented what some scriptural texts call “the anointing oils” of the Atonement, which fill the chalice and/or fuel the lamps.

As Bible-Jesus attempted to demonstrate at the Last Supper, those “anointing oils” are the Blood of Christ and the Living Water, the ego-dissolving “Miracles of Grace” the Chosen Ones “give to receive” — by metaphorically passing the Chalice — around the Circle of Forgiveness.

So, long story short, “Israel” refers to the Real World or “Promised Land” we “see” underneath Satan’s illusion of form through Upright, True, or Miraculous Perception.

Makes sense, right?

In future posts, we’ll discuss how the Holy Spirit helps us open the “eye in the forehead” that enables True Perception, Spiritual Sight, or Christ’s Vision. For now, let’s get back to our discussion of the Upside-Down Realm of Perception.

You probably noticed the Tarot cards I’ve posted herein to illustrate some of the ideas presented. If you’ve read My Journey, you’ll know that I “dabbled in the occult” along the way to the Course. During that period, I learned to read Tarot cards, which — like everything else in the dream — are completely benign, yet highly symbolic. How their symbols are interpreted and applied in our lives depends entirely on which “mind” we ask to interpret them for us. If we ask the cards about our career goals, financial needs, or relationship worries, we’re asking the Ego Mind to guide us. If, on the other hand, we consult the cards about spiritual matters, we’re asking the Rightminded Guide for assistance.

As Tarot decks go, the one first published in 1909 by William Rider & Son offers the most elucidating symbolism. Based on the instructions of academic and mystic A. E. Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, the Rider-Waite-Smith deck was the first in which the “pip” or “minor arcana” cards displayed instructive pictures.

That Waite and Smith both belonged to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret organization founded by the controversial English occultist and magician Aleister Crowley, casts a slight shadow over the deck in some people’s minds. I’m not a fan of Crowley’s, but I still find the symbols on the cards above reproach.

Why am I telling you this? For two reasons. The first is that we’ll be studying the useful symbols on some of the cards as we move forward in our discussions of the universality of Spiritual Truth. The second is that the Major Arcana card of THE HANGED MAN beautifully depicts our predicament in the Realm of Perception.

Like the figure on the card, we are suspended upside-down from the Tree of Ignorance, oblivious to the Spiritual Being dwelling within the symbolic forms our minds outwardly project. That hidden holiness of that “Soul” or “Spirit” is indicated by the hanged man’s golden nimbus. Being the antidote to guilt, that Holy Presence holds the key to our spiritual liberation, as Course Jesus explains in Workbook Lesson 39: My holiness is my salvation.

Like THE HANGED MAN, we are fooled by what we perceive and interpret from our inverted vantage point. Consequently, we a) put more faith in what our faulty senses report than in the unseen forces they fail to perceive; b) value physical “proof” and “evidence” over intuitive knowing; and (as indicated by the man on the card’s serene expression) c) seek contentment in confinement and chaos instead of striving to break free of our bindings.

So deceived are most of us by the illusion, in fact, that we never question its authenticity (and often ridicule those who do). Until we open our minds to the Truth, we will hang upside-down in the dark void, achieving absolutely nothing.

Or, to quote Course-Jesus (from the URText):

What protects madness is the belief that it is TRUE. It is the function of insanity to take the PLACE of truth. It must be seen as truth, to be believed. And, if it is the truth, then must its opposite, which was the truth before, be madness now. Such a reversal, completely turned around, with madness sanity, illusions true, attack a kindness, hatred love, and murder benediction, is the goal the laws of chaos serve. These are the means by which the laws of God appear to be reversed. Here do the laws of sin appear to hold love captive, and let sin go free.

Let’s now turn THE HANGED MAN right-side-up. If we look carefully, we will see that his posture forms two overlapping triangles — one pointing upward and the other pointing downward. The figure’s haloed head forms the point or apex of the upright triangle, with his bent knee suggesting its base. The inverted triangle, meanwhile, is formed by his straight leg and bent arms.

Can you see what I mean? I hope so because the upright triangle symbolizes Purusha Awareness, Christ Consciousness, or Miraculous Perception, while the upside-down triangle represents what’s variously known as Prakriti, Ego, or Material Consciousness.

In shorthand:

Purusha Consciousness = Right-side-up Perception
Prakriti Consciousness = Upside-down Perception

As Course-Jesus explains in the excerpt above, when we chose perception over Knowledge, we turned our understanding of “reality” upside-down. In so doing, we blocked our awareness of everything “of God” or “Sat,” including our own Divine Authorship, Inheritance, and Creative Powers. To restore the Holy Truth to our minds, we have to turn our consciousness back around. We must, in other words, invite our indwelling “Spirit of Holiness” to aright our perception by making the Circle-Journey or Walking Journey around the “Wheel of Earthly Existence.”

Seen through the Spiritual Eye, THE HANGED MAN is a “disguised” six-pointed star. As such, the card (like the star itself) illustrates our overlapping and opposed states of being: Purusha, the True and Eternal, and Prakriti. the false and ephemeral. Upside-down in the world, we are THE HANGED MAN — the lie-perceiving “Son of Man” suspended in the dark void of sin, scarcity, separation, sacrifice, and specialness. Right-side-up, we are the truth-perceiving Son of God — the Joyful Cosmic Dancer in the Parabha Mandala moving God’s Plan forward in time.

Right-side-up, we remember that we are as perfect, innocent, healed, and WHOLE as God created us before we leaped into the void of forgetfulness we made in collusion with the Devil.

Often downplayed as a decorative motif widely used in ancient times, the six-pointed star is, in truth, a powerful symbol in a wide range of mystical traditions. Because it appears on the flag of Israel, we tend to associate the symbol with the Jewish religion and homeland.

It might, therefore, surprise you to learn that the so-called “Star of David” didn’t become a formal Jewish emblem until 1897. Prior to appearing on the flag of the First Zionist Congress in that year, the Star of David or Shield of David was used by a scant handful of Jewish communities across Europe.

According to Encyclopedia Britannica, the star’s earliest links with Judaism began in the Middle Ages, when it was popularized by Kabbalists (Jewish mystics) as a protective talisman against evil. The encyclopedia’s account is only partly accurate. Kabbalists DID use the symbol in medieval times, but so did Islamic mystics and Western occultists and alchemists. At the time, the double-triangle was not, however, known as the Star of David. The mystical double-triangle was known as the Seal or Signet of Solomon.

According to the legends, Solomon — the Biblical king prized for his wisdom — wore a signet ring given to him through the industry of the Archangels. When pressed into wax, that ring left a mark or seal. The ring itself was said to be the source of Solomon’s great wisdom. It also gave him the power to communicate with spiritual beings, both good and evil, as well as animals.

A modern replica of King Solomon’s signet ring.

Interestingly, that same signet ring is mentioned in the Sefer HaRazim, the “Book of Secrets” believed to have been given to Noah by the Archangel Raziel or Raphael. In Jewish mysticism, Raziel is known as the “Angel of Secrets,” “Angel of Mysteries,” and/or “Keeper of All Magic.” He is also counted among the heavenly beings that gifted the Sephirot of the Kabbalah to humankind.

According to the lore, the “Book of Secrets” was subsequently passed down until it came into King Solomon’s possession. Thought to be a sourcebook for Jewish “magic,” the Sefer HaRazim reportedly advises readers to call upon “angels” rather than God to perform supernatural feats (i.e., Miracles of Grace). This seems sensible, given that God is only present in “spirit” in the Realm of Perception.

The signet ring and/or Seal of Solomon also is discussed in the Old Testament, the Babylonian Talmud, and an ancient Greek book of magic titled The Testament of Solomon, as well as in the first-century writings of Roman-Jewish historian Flavius Josephus.

In the Old Testament, the ring is mentioned by the Angel of the Presence to the “lesser” Hebrew prophet Zechariah. In the prophet’s account of their conversation, the Angel says s/he will “wear” the promised Messiah “like a signet ring.”

What s/he means is that the Messiah (Jesus Christ) would become a symbol for the Law of Love, the Atonement Plan, and the ego-dissolving process of True Forgiveness. And that has indeed come to pass, as Course-Jesus explains in the Manual for Teachers.

As I understand it, the Signet Ring of Solomon imprints upon our minds what’s variously known as the Mark of God and the Seal of God. And we’ll explore what that “Mark” or “Seal” represents down the line.

As a demonstration of the universality of Spiritual Truth, let’s now look at various versions of the Seal of Solomon. One of the earliest appears on the title page of the “Leningrad Codex,” the oldest surviving copy of the complete Hebrew Bible. According to its contents, the Codex was produced in Cairo, Egypt, in 1008 CE (or possibly 1009 CE). This particular “seal” displays various Biblical passages in Hebrew (woven around the frame), as well as acknowledgement of the scribes and their rabbi (in the center hexagram).

I found the version below on a fascinating website called Mystic Symbolism, which identifies the symbol shown as “the Double Triangle of Solomon.” It was, in fact, my discovery of this image that led me down the rabbit-hole from which I gleaned much of the information shared herein about Solomon’s Seal.

What do the symbols on the figure above signify? Some pretty important stuff, as it turns out. The top point bears the letter Alpha, the Greek equivalent of Hebrew’s Aleph — the Father and/or Supreme Will aspect of Elohim. The lowermost point bears the Greek letter Omega, as in “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.” The other four points display the Hebrew letters making up the word EHYEH, which appears in the Old Testament Book of Exodus 3:14. In the King James translation, the verse reads: “And God said unto Moses, ‘I AM THAT I AM’: and he said ‘This shalt thou say unto the Children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”

Quick translation: “Children of Israel” is a symbolic reference to the Chosen Ones discussed in the Course and addressed in Sadhguru’s video. As Course-Jesus explains, the Chosen Ones are the Souls who elected to wake up faster than the majority, to join the Great Crusade for Awakening. It is not, therefore, a reference exclusive to those of the Jewish faith.

Although EHYEH is commonly translated into English as “I Am that I Am,” astute Hebrew linguists translate the word-name as “I Am the Being-One” or “I Am what always was, still is, and will be again.” EHYEH is, therefore, the Christ presence or Great Purusha underneath the illusion of form. And the Seal of Solomon represents God’s solemn promise that we will know or remember that indwelling Holy Presence again one day.

We will know or remember that Holy Presence by receiving from the Holy Spirit the Mark or Seal of God.

In Hinduism, the six-pointed star takes the form of the Shaktona or Satkona — a Sanskrit word meaning “the four corners of God.” The “four corners” referenced are, I’m reasonably certain, the four Living Beings overseeing the quadrants of the Circle-Journey.

Like the Star of David (and THE HANGED MAN), the Shatkona is composed of two inter-locking triangles, one facing upward and one facing downward. The upward-pointing triangle represents Purusha or Shiva, while the downward-pointing wedge represents Prakriti, Shakti, or Parvati, Shiva’s “wife.” Their union gives birth to Kumara, Kubara, or Kartikeya, the “guardian” of the northern cardinal direction on the Wheel of Rebirth.

As the “guardian” of the northern compass point, Kumara stands before “the door into the Upper Chambers of the Temple” mentioned in my translation of Deuteronomy 6:4-5. In Sanskrit, the name Kumara — a compound of “kuma” and “ra” — translates as “the pool or pond of inner radiance.”

And on that synchronistic note, let’s end today’s discussion. In future posts, we’ll talk more about all these things, so don’t worry if you’re still a bit fuzzy. I’m still a bit fuzzy, to be perfectly honest. But I’m learning by teaching these things to whoever the Holy Spirit brings to my blog.

Until we meet again, Om Shanti Om.
